~Portraits in Blues~
Mose Allison 02/04/2010 The Jazz Showcase / Chicago This was a great performance by the Mose Allison Trio at the Jazz Showcase . The music they played was good old jazz and blues mixed with modern wit. His music is light and humorous styled in the 1950‘s, 1960‘s era of great jazz. For example, one of his pieces plays on words like “you call it jogging, I call it running around” along with his piano’s upbeat jazz style makes for an amusing song that you remember. Mose sang and played piano along with his bassist Kelly Sill and drummer Bob Rummage who gave us an evening of pleasurable music that everyone enjoyed.
