~Portraits in Blues~
Rock 'n' Roll Party (Honoring Les Paul) Jeff Beck and The Imelda May Band 04/01/2011 Cadillac Palace Theatre / Chicago The music of Les Paul and Mary Ford were brought back to us for an evening, thanks to the collaboration of Jeff Beck, Darrel Higham, and Imelda May. Because of the innovation and insight of Les Paul, the very dynamics of the electric guitar was conceived. This night, at the Cadillac Palace Theater in Chicago, Illinois, we were taken back to a time when television shows were fun, enjoyable, clean and true entertainment. Jam Productions, The Imelda May band, and Jeff Beck gave us exactly that.
The Cadillac Palace Theater was the perfect place to host this kind of show, because its rich history and beautiful architecture lends itself well to the days of live audience television theater. The amazingly preserved venue has the capacity to hold over 2,000 people, but it is intimate enough and can boast that there is not a bad seat in the house.
